Background vocals can be tricky. Some people can just spit them out off the top of their head and for others, writing and singing them can be a completely mystifying process. In an earlier post, Jesse spoke about using a keyboard to write the main vocal melody and the same principle applies here. In this video, Joe from Home Studio Corner show us how he writes his – beginning with the use of a choir synth patch (available stock in most every DAW) to get some ideas. By using this process you’ll feel more free to add background vox more often while still seeing what works without having to sing new bits over and over.
