Using YouTube Playlists To Show Your Personality And Promote Your Music

You’re constantly being told that YouTube is the most important social network to focus on, but making videos takes time that you may not have. One of the best ways to use your YouTube channel is to make playlists that your fans would enjoy as well as enabling new fans to discover your music through. You can share these playlists on your social networks, your YouTube feed and have them get discovered in YouTube searches. Here are some ideas:

  • Influences – Make a playlist of what influenced you, you can even interweave your own songs into the playlist and describe what part of the song influenced your by making a shot video blog you put in-between the songs. This playlist can constantly evolve, you can update it all the time and keep sending fans back to.
  • Scene – Make a YouTube playlist of the band you like who are local to you or those you share a common bond with. Your fans will enjoy this ability to discover new music and if the other acts share it, you can be discovered by their fans.
  • History – Give a history lesson on which groups you think your fans should know about.
  • Fun – Are you a huge collector of Grumpy cat videos? Do you love nothing more than an exploding soda bottle video? Show your fans the best of these videos and let them learn from you.

All of these playlists can get your music discovered and add to more YouTube subscriptions. Do you have any other ideas for playlists musicians can make?
