ThinkIndie.com Trying To Save The Record Stores

thinkindie.com.jpg

In an effort to try to save indie record stores from their inevitable death, the Coalition of Independent Music Stores has launched ThinkIndie.com. The site being a indie-centered online music store, where you can get a 320 kpbs download of boutique record store styled selections for $9.99. Once a customer registers with the site, they are assigned to their
local store and each time they make a purchase that store is rewarded, helping keep it afloat. Each store has personal picks, to try to keep the local flavor, and the personality of a local shop. The site site has a few exclusive releases, but it will be interesting if they are able to compete with indiecentric long haulers like Insound or even the large catalog of indie music at iTunes and Amazon.
