Should You Use Music Submission Services For Publicity?

Nearly every day I’m asked whether you can buy a list of thousands of music writers to pitch your music to and see who will bite. The answer is yes, but with a caveat. While there are services that do this, in my experience they are never worth the money. Instead, you do in fact have you music sent to thousands of writers who do not trust these services and send the emails directly to their junk box. Services like Music Submit and BeatWire make these promises, but the results seem to never deliver for anyone I know who uses them. Music publicist James Moore has also had this experience and wrote a great blog about it on The Music Think Tank. If you are thinking about using these services give this article a read first.
