According to a high level executive, the record industry will seek to put their grubby little hands in the pocket of the Pirate Bay sale. If you recall, the Swedish software company Global Gaming Factory recently bought the Pirate Bay for $7.8 million and vowed to try and obtain content legally (ahem, yeah right). Since a Swedish court awarded the music industry 3.6 million in damages April, the IFPI (International Federation of the Phonographic Industry) now wants to sack the new owners with the debt and intend to come calling for their cash. Perhaps they would settle for some free music/movies instead? Somebody better hire a lawyer and fast. More on the full story here.
