One of the amazing designs that didn’t make it to this year’s NAMM was the Misa Digital Guitar. With a touchpad that features digital filter, note velocity and pitch, there are clearly a lot of sonic possibilities – our first impression is that it seems to operate like a Kaoss Pad that controls guitar. Misa’s Digital Guitar is also MIDI compatible and runs on Linux software that is open source. The purchase price is not posted on the website (perhaps negotiable?) but we’re assuming that this technology is not yet cheap. Misa Digital, a small Australian company with no other designs that we discovered, has a brief FAQ on their website here.
