How To Get Your Band Publicity: Smile For The Camera! Part 2

Yesterday we told you about how you get writers to write about your band. Today, we have an easy tip for you. You need at least three good looking pictures and YouTubes of your band. Blogs like ours and everyone across the Internet love good pictures and videos. At Musformation, we do not write articles unless we have an awesome image/video of your band to put with the article. If you have some nasty blurry picture your half-blind girlfriend took, it may be enough to have some writers give up on your article. I am shocked what graphic snobs some writers can be and the sprawling paragraph blurb you were about to get, can be turned down to one sentence with no eye catching graphic. If that weren’t enough, some tastemaking blogs only use YouTube videos for their headers. If you don’t have one, you are out of luck on their blog. In order to get good publicity make sure there are ready available link to a few different great pictures/videos of your band. Having these on Flickr (with a Creative Common lisence on them so we can instantly download them) really helps considering that is the first place us writers look for great images. The good news is as your band is around for a while, your fans will upload awesome pictures and videos of your band and this pain will be over soon. Till then, get to it!
