Getting The Click Out Of Your Recordings! Part 1

sleepy metronome.jpgMusformation has declared this week Click Track Week. Check back
here all week to see many articles about making life with the Click
Track much easier!

Do you have trouble – when recording quiet instruments like Acoustic Guitars, Vocals, Strings etc. – keeping the click track out of the tracks? Nothing screams amateur quite like hearing the click track in a quiet part of a song.  A simple trick to avoid this plague is to use a Kick Drum as your click sound . Since the frequencies are more concentrated in the lower range that are often rolled off, it is much easier to get the sound from bleeding in to a performance. Many players also respond very well to a kick drum as a click since it is a bit less grating.
