Synthesis innovator Curtis Roads discusses granular
synthesis and it’s use in his musical compositions. The process gets its name from the tiny audio pieces called “grains” which help add new sounds and textures. Inspiring and mind blowing, Curtis has made some amazing sounds in his time as a composer! Further, he brings up a great point: are we now in the golden age of creating electronic music? Perhaps only time will tell, but what’s certain is that we’ve come a long way (parts 2 and 3 after the jump).
