Get Creative And Make Your Lyric Video In The Real World

When I tell musicians that at the very minimum they should make a lyric video for every song and post it YouTube, I am often met with pushback that this is far too much of a technological challenge  to accomplish. This isn’t the case, no one says a lyric video is always a computer generated, graphical wonderland that challenges Shrek’s technical achievements. All you need is your camera (or a smart phone) and some creative instincts to make a great lyric video. Take the above video from Late Cambrian for their latest single “Resolution”, which they gave the clever moniker “paper karaoke”. While they spice it up with a cool camera filter and a small countdown, these videos don’t take long to make and can help get more viewers on the most popular music discovery channel in the world. Oh yeah, and if you think this is too high-tech for you, remember Bob Dylan did it almost 50 years ago. Get with the times.
