Free Advice: Keep An Email List of Every Band You Work With!

So recently, every
male-in-a-collared-shirt-and-sweater’s favorite band, Death Cab For Cutie
, had
a real embarrassment: all of their video content has disappeared! Their record
company had ordered all of their YouTubes taken down without telling the band
first. Now anyone who has been involved on any side of bands and record
companies knows these relationships get strained real fast. At some
point you are going to fight and have strife over real issues, so it may be a
good idea to contain the things that aren’t big deals. Play it safe, get the
email of EVERY member, manager, whoever involved with your umbrella, save it
and when big changes happen, LET THE PEOPLE WHO ARE GOING TO BE AFFECTED KNOW!
This is good practice even just to keep everyone up with what is going on. No
one likes to be made a fool of and this simple step can make your life much
easier.
