Drum Tuning Tip: Tune The Batter Head Lower Than The Resonant

No matter what style you play, if you want your drums to sound as awesome as they can, there is a simple rule to follow. The Batter Head should be tuned lower then the Resonant Head. This means that then tension should be tighter on the Resonant Head, than the head you hit (for those of you who are terminology challenged). This will produce a clearer and punchier tone, that is usually what most of us are looking for.
