Do You REALLY Need To Personalize Blog Pitches?

I have run a lot of blog pitches–I even did one this week where I wrote to about 150 people–and here is what I find time and time again.

  • If you mass mail if you even get a response from 1 out of 100 you’re going to be lucky.
  • If you personalise them a little if you get 5 out of 100 to write about you you’ll be lucky.
  • If you become a big follower of a blog, comment, interact on social networks and really make yourself a part of a community you can get written on 1 out of every 4 blogs.
The effort you put in goes a long way. There’s so many people trying to get the same attention you are. I know a lot of people who get zero response when they just carpet bomb bloggers. Good luck!
