As we discussed yesterday, theft is a big problem for musicians. One of the little and inexpensive things you can do to prevent your equipment from walking is to surprise would-be thieves with a bike lock. I have tons of equipment scattered throughout my home and studio that I have small locks on. If a thief is to pick my house at random they may not be prepared to deal with cutting a bike lock saving me from the hell of my Mac Pro taking a walk. A simple loop through all of your guitar and bass (or drums and keyboards) cases can make the difference in someone being able to simply grab and run, and them having to take minutes to struggle to pry your equipment away. These minutes can be the difference between someone spotting a thief in action and them going undetected. Bike locks are cheap, pick one up today to be safe and not sorry.
