In this series we will discuss something that no band seems to do. Treat the sound man with any form of respect. As someone who clocked a couple of their early years as one, I know from experience. We will now be telling you why walking into a gig and treating a sound man is one of the worst commonly practiced ideas that go on everyday.

Today’s reason to be nice to your sound man is simple – He is a huge music fan. He has lots of friend in the scene he is in since he hangs with bands every night. Odds are he is even a taste maker who talks about music and the band that rules every night he is at this job. You know the one thing he talks about more than a band he loves, the bunch of dicks who blamed him for their lack of skill. The sound man is the center of many scenes, just remember when you decide to call him a dick from the stage in front of the 12 people you brought in that night, he will be there for the next year talking about how bad your band is for the next year to anyone who will listen.
